About Yuxin

Hello everyone! I am Yuxin, a native speaker from China. My mother tongue is Mandarin, whose level reaches the standard spoken Chinese two levels of first-class (90.5 points). My English level reaches C1 (IELTS 7.0), and I can speak a little French at the same time. My undergraduate major is English translation and English linguistics, and my graduate major is TESOL. I have four years of experience in teaching Chinese and English. During my study in the United States, I served as a Chinese teacher in the Chinese Culture Club, teaching mandarin and Chinese culture to American students majoring in Chinese. My parents are both Chinese professors in universities, so I am full of love and passion for Chinese teaching and education, and I hope that I can make contributions to international education.
I believe that interesting dialogues or performances can enhance students' interest in learning Chinese. Through standard and pure Mandarin pronunciation and various forms of vocabulary teaching, I will repeatedly correct the pronunciation of students. Through the practice of setting situational dialogues in daily life, I can enable students to quickly master and use the learned vocabulary to have simple dialogues. I will use a variety of teaching methods to encourage students to speak Chinese loudly.

Teaching method: TBLT
Techniques: The teaching mode based on Dewey's pragmatism emphasizes student-centered, and believes that students are the subject of knowledge and the active constructor of knowledge meaning (pre-task, while-task, post-task).
Typical lesson plan:
Pre-task:
the 1st day: using manipulative, picture flashcards, Powerpoint to learn words
the 2nd day: measurement words and sentence patterns
the 3rd day: talking about dialogues
the 4th day: design games and activities about these words, prepare flash cards for stations (Each of the five stations have five sets of identical vocabulary cards separated into five, color-coded groups)
the 5th day: pair up students to take turns practicing what they need to say. Review the vocabulary and sentence patterns at stations.
While-task:
the 6th day: Simulate the use of words in different contexts
Post-task:
the 7th day: follow-up and comment; strengths and limitations
