About Imelda
Hello! My name is Teacher Mel. I am a TESOL-certified and licensed professional teacher major in English, with over 13 years of experience in the ESL industry.
I have a strong academic and professional background in English language teaching, supported by TESOL certification and formal teacher licensure. Over the years, I have continuously participated in training and professional development programs that have strengthened my teaching strategies and classroom management skills.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with a wide range of learners—from young beginners who are just starting their English journey, to teenagers developing academic skills, and adult professionals aiming to improve their communication for work and daily life. This diverse experience has helped me become highly adaptable in handling different learning styles, personalities, and language needs.
I am also highly experienced in teaching English proficiency exam preparation, including TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, KET, PET, and FCE. In these classes, I focus on test-taking strategies, time management, and skill-building in reading, listening, speaking, and writing. In addition, I teach Children’s English and Business English, helping learners strengthen both their spoken and written communication skills in practical and meaningful ways.
Over time, I have developed a teaching approach that is student-centered, encouraging, and goal-oriented. I make sure that every lesson is engaging and tailored to the learner’s level, so students feel supported, motivated, and confident in using English.
Most importantly, teaching is not just my profession—it is my passion. I truly enjoy seeing my students grow, gain confidence, and achieve their goals. Being part of their learning journey is something I deeply value and take pride in.
