About Deborah
I am pretty new to this. So far students have felt pretty comfortable as they read and write with me. I am pretty quick to identify a student's gifts. I focus on what a student is good at and work up from there.

Students read something they are interested in, out loud, to me. The preference is history or science, on their grade level. If they are not reading on grade level , we do not sweat it. We will read the first book and then check the grade level again. Lather , rinse, repeat; as they say. They talk to me about it what they have read. We work on writing what they have told me.
