About Alec
Hello! I'm Alec, and I'd love to share a bit about myself and my journey as an English teacher. I'm from a small town in the southeast of England called Tunbridge Wells. I had an English father, and a French mother, so I've always been very interested in languages.
I had the chance to volunteer as an English teacher in Vietnam and Cambodia, which were amazing experiences. Immersing myself in these beautiful and diverse cultures, I discovered a deep passion for helping others learn English. Teaching in non-profit schools gave me a profound understanding of different learning styles and cultural backgrounds. It was during this time that I realised how much I enjoy creating engaging and supportive learning environments for my students.
With my TEFL certification, I've been able to bring my enthusiasm for teaching, to students from all around the world. I believe that learning English should be an exciting and enjoyable journey, tailored to each individual's needs and goals. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I'm here to help you every step of the way.
Apart from teaching, I have a lifelong passion for music, sports, and adventure. This drives me to explore new places and connect with people from all walks of life. My ultimate goal is to visit every country in the world! Recently, I've been living in Australia, which I am very much enjoying. I'm a big fan of all the interesting wildlife there is here.
Looking ahead, I'm planning a backpacking trip through some of Asia next year. I'd love to explore Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. I'm eager to learn about their history, experience the culture, and, of course, try some of the delicious food. I also hope that this will enrich my understanding of these cultures, which I can then incorporate into my teaching.
