About Benjamin
I am a high school senior based out of Greenwood, Indiana and have been playing piano under 3 esteemed teachers for the past 12 years or so. I have known since I was young that I loved piano and wanted to share my love with others. Because of this, I decided to begin teaching out of my home roughly 6 years ago. Two years later, I began teaching at the Indianapolis Music Academy, one of the largest music schools in Indianapolis, Indiana. I maintain a schedule of roughly 25 students per week. In addition to my piano studies, I also play the double bass in my high school's Symphonic (Honors) Orchestra where I am principal bassist. I also greatly enjoy theatre organ and have been taking lessons under Justin Stahl for over two years. I have experience teaching and conducting middle school orchestras and beginning bassists as well. I love all types of music and the wonderful benefits that come along with playing an instrument. My name is Benjamin Helton. From as far back as I can remember, I have always loved piano. I have been a pianist for roughly 12 years and I have studied pieces ranging from Bach, Beethoven, and Haydn to the works of Gershwin, Berlin, and modern pop artists. I have been teaching for 6 years, both privately and through the Indianapolis Music Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana. I mainly focus on beginning to early intermediate students. All ages and ability levels are welcome. I have taught students from 4 years old to seniors and have experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. I shape each students lessons to fit them best. I only require a strong work ethic, accountability, and a keyboard or piano to practice on. I can't wait to begin helping your next piano student with their musical journey!

My standard base rate for lessons is $40.00 per hour, but if that will not work for you and your financial constraints, I encourage you to reach out. I will NEVER turn away a dedicated, hard-working student for financial reasons. As I view it, money should never be a determining factor in whether or not a student can receive a high-quality musical education.
