I had the pleasure of learning under Melissa for the entire four years of my undergraduate degree, where her expertise and guidance strengthened both my drawing skill and artistic vision. Melissa guided and mentored me through four years of art school. She was the person who introduced me to printmaking, which ended up becoming my major. She spent so much of her time teaching me attention to specific details in printmaking and making sure i was aware of all the possible processes to create the image that I wanted. She is highly skilled at teaching drawing and printmaking, as well as being a color and texture guru. She works with materials in unique and beautiful ways, often involving community in her projects, creating a sense of oneness with the world and the people around her.

Melissa started as one of my college orientation class teachers and is now one of my most valued mentors and friends. Anyone would be so lucky to have the opportunity learn from and know her.
