About Benjamin
Hiya, I'm Ben a General Engineering undergraduate at the University of Sheffield. I have a great passion for the French language, having studied it, lived in the country and tutored for 6 months in a school working with students as well as mentoring at the school I attended. My goals were to understand their individual difficulties and working to develop not only their understanding but love for the subjects they study. Having excelled academically I'm passionate about helping others enjoy learning the same way I do.

Length: A lesson is generally around an hour but is flexible. Level: I mainly tutor GCSE, or A Level but I can accommodate based on needs My teaching style through experience: From training and working as a tutor in a school and tutoring a large array of students my tuition methodology is designed to work with and engage a student much more than a traditional class. In such a teacher will talk at the student for 20 minutes then leave them to do questions for the rest, instead I tutor through a discussion with a student this will not only be more engaging but achieve a greater level of understanding than through a traditional lesson format by allowing me as a tutor to really see how the student thinks about these topics and thus adapt my teaching to suit their individual needs. This is broken down into: 1. Introduction & Recap (10 minutes) - This reminds students of past sessions work and we discuss what we'll be doing today this mentally prepares them for the ideas that will be worked upon this session. 2. Explanation & Discuss (20 minutes) -A more teacher lead segment explaining the concepts and demonstrating the processes, while talking to the student about what they think, how they view and apply these topics to create more links and by creating more interest produce a greater depth of understanding. 3.Working together (20 minutes) -Working through questions which not only solidify understanding but push us to think about these problems from different perspectives. 4.Feedback, reflection and further (10 minutes) -We then discuss how the lesson felt, how far we got and what the student could do to further his studies or understand more.
