About Laura

I am Laura, a teacher by profession with 8 years experience. I was born in South Africa and now living in England.
My favorite subject is biology which I can teach up to high school. The other subjects I teach is primary school english (reading, writing, phonics, spelling etc) and maths. I am happy to help with any other primary school subject too.
My aim is to make a difference in children's lives by welcoming critical thinking and problem solving skills to eliminate anxiety while learning in class and during tests/ exams.

I am a kind, caring, patient, calm and empathetic teacher who aims to instill the same passions through teaching.

My approach to tutoring is based on providing comprehensive and personalised guidance to help students grasp and master various subjects with interactive conversations responding to their questions, providing explanations, and offering examples. I explain complex ideas in a simplified manner, breaking them down into digestible parts. I often use real-life examples and scenarios to help students understand the practical applications of the topics they are learning. I provide step-by-step guidance for problem-solving, offering strategies and techniques to tackle various types of questions. I encourage students to actively participate by asking questions, providing feedback, and engaging in discussions.

The length of a lesson can vary based on the student's preferences and the complexity of the subject. Typically, a lesson can range from a few minutes for quick clarifications to several hours for in-depth discussions and learning sessions. However, the exact duration is flexible and can be customised based on the student's needs.

As a qualified teacher, I have been trained on a vast amount of various subjects, including mathematics, English, Biology and more.

My tutoring sessions are designed to cater to a wide range of students. Biology, I can teach up to high school, and can teach all primary subjects too.
