About Samuel
You have capability and I can help you leverage your talents. I have experience with a wide variety of students with different types of struggles from gifted students to those with intellectual disabilities, from anxious students to those with specific learning disabilities like dyslexia, and across all different personalities and learning types. I have gone back as far as elementary school coin math while tutoring a below-level high school student, who ultimately performed above average for his class on the final exam. (This student was a regular.)

I draw knowledge out of my students through questioning. As a teacher, I am usually willing to take a small number of questions during a quiz or exam and when I respond with a question of my own, 90% of the time a student immediately turns back to their test and answers correctly.
As I tutor, questioning makes it easy to see where a student is so that I can know where to place the next stepping stone in front of them. I also have a passion for coaching a healthy learning attitude and growth mindset.
During a session, we will first establish a clear and achievable session goal and reason, then work towards that goal. If we achieve our goal, I will provide work and guidance to help retain and recreate that achievement. If we do not achieve our goal during the session, we will plan future sessions and I may provide extra work or a schedule of extra work that can serve as stepping stones between where the student is and where he wants to be.
