In those moments during which I felt less confident, Ellie was there to encourage me. When I was doing well, she helped me cultivate my passion for languages and foreign cultures. This is because Ellie is not only a great teacher, who knows all the little intricacies of French and German but also because she embraces Linguistics with dedication. She transmitted me this aptitude and her lessons have always been varied, interesting and entertaining. She speaks the languages fluently but is also interested in their cultural implications, as well as their historical, geographical processes that influenced and ultimately changed them. It's a bit like travelling and it's been mind-broadening. I'm grateful for Ellie's teachings and for her giving me the chance to look at languages in a different way.
