About Christy
Hello. I am a Resource Specialist with experience supporting elementary and middle school students with a wide range of learning needs. I specialize in helping students build confidence in reading, writing, and math through personalized instruction that meets them where they are.
My goal is to make learning positive, engaging, and achievable. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their individual strengths, needs, and learning style. Whether your child needs extra support with foundational skills, homework, organization, or preparing for classroom success, I provide patient, encouraging, and structured instruction.
I have experience working with students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and English learners. I use evidence-based teaching practices, including explicit instruction, visual supports, hands-on learning, and positive reinforcement to help students develop both academic skills and confidence.
Families can expect clear communication, professionalism, and a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe that building a student's confidence is just as important as improving academic performance. My goal is to help every student become a more independent, motivated learner while celebrating their progress every step of the way.
I look forward to partnering with you and helping your child reach their full potential!

As a Resource Specialist, I believe every student can succeed when instruction is tailored to their individual learning needs. I use a patient, encouraging, and structured approach that builds confidence while helping students develop the academic skills they need to become independent learners. I focus on creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress.
I use evidence-based instructional strategies that include:
Explicit, step-by-step instruction
Modeling and guided practice
Visual supports and graphic organizers
Multisensory learning techniques
Positive reinforcement and frequent feedback
Differentiated instruction based on each student's strengths and needs
Progress monitoring to adjust instruction as students grow
For reading, I incorporate structured literacy and Science of Reading practices. For math, I use hands-on models, visuals, and problem-solving strategies to help students build conceptual understanding.
We practice the skill together before students work independently with support as needed. Throughout the lesson, I provide frequent feedback, encourage questions, and adjust instruction based on student understanding. Each session ends with a quick review and a goal for the next lesson.
As a Resource Specialist, I have experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs, including learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other exceptionalities. I understand that every student learns differently and strive to make lessons engaging, accessible, and individualized. My goal is not only to help students improve academically but also to build their confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills.
I work with:
Elementary and middle school students (Grades K–8)
Students receiving Resource (RSP) or Special Education services
Students with learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and other diverse learning needs
Students who need additional support in reading, writing, math, organization, or study skills
English learners who benefit from additional academic support
Whether your child needs help catching up, building foundational skills, or gaining confidence in school, I provide individualized instruction designed to meet their unique needs and help them reach their full potential.
