About Joy
My classroom is one that focuses highly on compassion and kindness. I urge students to find the balance between their emotional and wise mind when it comes to historical investigation and content knowledge. I often compare historical writing as a process of portioning, measuring, and tasting. This helps me to weave in pop culture references like Harry Potter, Chopped, or even ASMR. I am strongly committed to love, safety, and sanity in my classroom. My classroom is a place where students all feel taken care of regardless of their socially and self prescribed identities.
