About Colleen
As your tutor, I will be well-prepared and organized for our sessions. We will utilize a clear lesson plan with tailored materials and a structured approach to meet your needs. Our sessions will always be positive and reinforce the idea of a growth mindset. Persistence, resiliency, and commitment will build your inner confidence! I have earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree in the field of education, and have extensive experience in elementary, middle, and high school levels. Most recently, I taught 8th-grade English Language Arts, and I am currently a reading interventionist for grades 2 and 3. I will draw on my experiences to assist you with meeting your goals.

As a current reading interventionist in Brevard Schools, I can confidently identify individual needs and create lessons to improve in the given subject matter, empowering students to become independent and confident learners.
Following baseline data, a typical lesson would include addressing the pillars of reading that are not yet mastered. These may include phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and/or comprehension. Additionally, any current school assignments that the student may need assistance with will be completed.
My tutoring lessons would be beneficial for students in Grades 2-12 who need assistance with reading, English, or FAST, ACT, and SAT preparation.
