About Janelle
I hold an MMus in Music Therapy from the University of Pretoria and have worked with children and adults from diverse backgrounds, including neurodivergent individuals. Alongside my therapeutic work, I teach piano, singing, and songwriting, and regularly facilitate creative songwriting workshops. Music has been a lifelong passion — I also perform at various gigs and live events. My goal is to help learners step out of their comfort zones, grow in confidence, and discover their unique musical “gold.”

My teaching approach is student-centred. I meet each learner where they are and tailor lessons to their individual learning style. Some students thrive by ear and through creativity, while others prefer structure and theory-based learning. I combine both approaches, balancing freedom and creativity with solid technical and theoretical foundations.
