About Baturay
My name is Baturay, I am a 4th year music student at Istanbul Bilgi University. I earned full scholarship because of my entrance exam result.
I studied with Berklee-graduate Guc Basar Gulle for 3 years and studying with Vienna Conservatory (MDW) graduate Oguz Usman for 3 years.

We will use the 'industry standard' music theory textbook excerpts and progressively build up with exercises and assignments.
Start with learning how to create major/minor scales (and modes), then learning how to build chords (triads and 7ths etc.) will allow you to see the bigger picture, with chordal progressions and the overall form in the composition.
We will analyze classical repertoire (W.A. Mozart, J.S. Bach..) based upon harmony and form, and you will be able to write your own compositions in a similar manner.
If needed, I can teach counterpoint, which is a crucial part of composing, and I will teach you how to compose for 2 voices and then we can start writing an 'invention'.
