About Christina
I have been an elementary school teacher for 26 years in a diverse school system. I am experienced with children with special needs, disabilities, ADHD, and English as a second language. My background also includes teaching summer school, tutoring in-person and online. I am confident I can help students at the preschool through 5th grade reading level.

Students are successful in READING when they master phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing. All of these components will be in every lesson I teach. As a teacher in a very challenging and diverse school district, I have continuous training and certifications in the most recent teaching methods of reading and language. I also know the "tried and true" practice methods that still work and are needed to make students show improvement. Tutoring should also include encouragement and creativity, which will be the theme of each lesson.

Excellent! Christy arrived on time and was very nice. She showed me what they worked on and gave me feedback on how my son was doing. I’m glad I found her and she will be my son’s tutor.
- I really enjoyed meeting and working with Nico. As I mentioned, he had a lot of on-grade level skills and had good test-taking strategies. There were some sound confusion with letters like v, w, y.
