About Hong
About Me
I achieved an ATAR above 95 and hold a Bachelor of Secondary Teaching, with formal training in education and student development. I completed my foundational education in China before continuing my academic studies in Australia, giving me a strong understanding of both Chinese and Australian education systems.
As a native Mandarin speaker who has received structured schooling in China, I have a solid grasp of accurate pronunciation, character writing standards, grammar structure, and formal written Chinese. At the same time, my experience studying in Australia allows me to understand the challenges local students face when learning Mandarin as a second language.
This dual educational background enables me to bridge cultural and curriculum differences effectively. I focus on delivering structured, disciplined, and clear instruction while adapting to each student’s individual learning style and goals

About Lessons – Mandarin Chinese
My lessons are carefully structured to support children and teenagers learning Mandarin at different levels, whether as a second language or for maintaining native proficiency.
Lessons focus on:
• Accurate pronunciation and tone correction (Pinyin foundation)
• Speaking confidence and real conversational ability
• Vocabulary building and sentence structure development
• Reading comprehension and character recognition
• Writing skills and structured composition practice
• School Chinese curriculum support and homework guidance
• Preparation for assessments or HSK (if required)
For younger learners, I use interactive activities and guided practice to maintain engagement and build confidence. For older students, lessons include structured grammar explanation, exam-style questions, and targeted feedback.
Regular progress feedback is provided to parents, and lesson plans are adjusted according to the student’s goals — whether improving school performance, strengthening bilingual ability, or building long-term fluency.
My aim is to develop both confidence and strong foundational language skills in a supportive and structured learning environment.
