About Katy
Hi there, and thanks for your interest! I'm Katy and I recently graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA Hons (First Class) in French, Italian and Spanish. I obtained Distinctions in all of the spoken elements of these languages, so I understand the challenges faced when learning languages.
I was particularly proud of my Spoken distinction element of my degree. In hindsight, this was all thanks to regular practice and the creative opportunities I sought during my year abroad which really enabled me to hone these skills! I want you to get the same positive results from your language learning, which is why I always seek to focus on and nurture the student’s oral, creative and improvisation skills.
I cater for all levels - from complete beginner, to advanced level - and beyond! If there’s a particular area or aspect of grammar or language you need help on, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me!

I am passionate about helping you learn Italian according to your preferred learning style and interests. I like to think I have a very student-centred approach, and am committed to enabling you get the most out of your lessons, through engaging and fun material, tailored according to your personal and professional interests and passions!
I am a native-level speaker, so whether you are a complete beginner, or an advanced speaker of Italian, I will tailor your sessions and learning plans according to your needs and learning style. Together, we'll create a personalised learning plan to kickstart your language journey. Flexible and learner-focused, I am here to help foster your passion for the target culture and language, all whilst having fun!
To practice written Italian, we can follow-up via email, and I will respond with a few comments, and even questions (in italiano!) to help you develop these skills even further. We can then follow-up with any questions in the following session.
