About Taye
I’m a drummer that plays lots of different genres, my main focus is on Jazz, Hip Hop, RnB, and Pop; but I started out playing Rock and Punk. I’m an active musician that plays gigs and festivals across the country, and have contributed to music that has had plays on BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 6, BBC introducing, Jazz FM, Worldwide FM, as well as a BBC live session. I have had the privilege of playing venues and festivals across the country, and opening for some esteemed artists such as Nile Rodgers & Chic, Eddie Chacon (Charles & Eddie), Talib Kweli, Nubiyan Twist, and more.
Upon obtaining my degree, a joint honours in Jazz (Drums) and Music Production at Leeds Conservatoire, I decided to start teaching drums as I remembered how vital my first drum teacher was for my love for music. His enthusiasm and approach made learning an instrument so exciting, and I'd love to be able to bring that to people.
I have a studio in Fishponds that I teach from, just off Fishponds Road. My studio contains a high quality acoustic drum kit, with a selection of cymbals to choose from also. I think learning on an acoustic kit is a major plus, as you get a real sense of how drums are supposed to feel, and sound!

I have experience with teaching people of all ages and abilities! I can provide fun and informative lessons for everyone, whether the priority is playing drums for fun, getting ready for drum grades, or becoming audition ready, I’ve got it covered. Having achieved a grade 8 qualification, and a number of prior successful auditions, I have a multitude of experiences to help you progress as a drummer and musician.
