About Shayne
I grew up with two little sisters, and after school almost every day I would make them play “school” with me and that early experience really shaped how comfortable and energized I feel teaching others. I graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Systems Engineering (3.8 GPA, 2230 SAT) and spent the last 5+ years working as a software engineer and technical lead. I tutor math, English, and computer science, and I tailor every lesson to what the student wants to work on. I’m energetic, patient, and focused.

My lessons are completely tailored to each student and what they want to work on. I teach math, English, and computer science, and I adapt my approach based on the student’s goals, learning style, and confidence level. A typical session might include reviewing homework or problem areas, breaking down concepts in a clear and approachable way, and practicing together until it really clicks. I’m energetic, patient, and genuinely love teaching and explaining ideas. My goal is to make learning feel less stressful and more engaging while helping students build both understanding and confidence.
