About Shira
Hi, I’m Shira and I recently achieved A*A*A in Spanish, Psychology and Chemistry A-levels respectively. I have 3 years of face to face GCSE tutoring experience. I’m 19 years old and currently studying Psychology and Language Sciences at UCL.
At the start of Year 13 I was predicted a B in Spanish, but through hard work and developing effective study and exam techniques, I improved my grade to an A*. This means I understand first-hand how frustrating it feels when your grades don’t reflect your hard work or when they aren’t as good as you want them to be. I’m confident that I can help you make significant improvements quickly. I’ll share the methods and techniques that I personally used to achieve my A*.
I’m also extremely passionate about creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Having experienced negative and discouraging teaching myself, I understand how much of a difference a teacher’s attitude can make. I’ll always encourage my students, celebrate their progress and, most importantly, have faith in their ability to improve.

We will start our lessons by identifying problem areas and targeting them through repeated practice and revision techniques that I’ve learnt throughout my studies. Together we’ll build confidence as that’s the key to fluency. I’ll also provide exam strategies that I used to get an A* in addition to advice on how to immerse yourself into the language and improve in all exam areas.
We can go through papers together, work through specific types of activities together, have speaking sessions or anything you may need.
I will always work hard in order to motivate you and help you achieve your academic potential.
