About Justin
My name is Justin, and I am a dedicated musician, saxophonist, and tutor with years of performance and musical experience. Music has been a major part of my life, and I am passionate about helping students grow both technically and creatively in their playing. I strive to create a supportive and motivating learning environment where students can build confidence, strengthen their musical abilities, and develop a genuine appreciation for music.
As a saxophonist, I have been recognized at a high level for my musicianship, earning selections as an All-National and All-Eastern saxophonist, as well as being selected to the New Jersey All-State Orchestra three times. These experiences have allowed me to perform alongside some of the top student musicians in the country and have helped shape both my playing and teaching philosophy.
In addition to performing, I am also a recording artist with two jazz albums, *117* and *Smoke and Streetlights*. Through writing, recording, and producing my own music, I have gained valuable experience in improvisation, musical expression, ensemble playing, and artistic development that I bring into my lessons. I believe music education should go beyond technique and help students find their own voice as musicians.
I pride myself on being patient, professional, and adaptable to each student’s learning style and goals. Whether a student is preparing for auditions, improving fundamentals, learning jazz improvisation, or simply looking to become more confident on their instrument, I work to make lessons engaging, challenging, and rewarding.

I’m Justin, a passionate and dedicated tutor who believes learning should feel engaging, supportive, and personalized to each student. My teaching style focuses on building confidence first, then strengthening understanding through clear explanations, practice, and real-world examples. I adapt my approach based on how each student learns best, whether that means breaking concepts down step-by-step, using visuals, creating practice problems, or connecting material to everyday situations.
A typical lesson starts with reviewing previous material and identifying any challenges the student is facing. From there, I guide students through new concepts in an interactive way rather than simply lecturing. I encourage questions, critical thinking, and active participation so students truly understand the material instead of memorizing it. I also like to end sessions with a quick recap and goals for improvement before the next lesson.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, communication skills, and ability to make students feel comfortable asking questions. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take pride in creating a positive environment where students can improve without feeling pressured. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to help them become more confident learners overall.
My lessons are designed for elementary school, middle school, high school, and introductory college-level students. I can help with students who need extra support, test preparation, homework assistance, study strategies, or a deeper understanding of class material.
