About Ali
I’m Ali, an English tutor based in Dubai, and I’m passionate about helping students reach their full potential. I’ve always taken my own studies seriously — I earned 9s in both English Literature and Language at GCSE, an A* in A-Level English Language, and a 1580 on the SAT, so I know what it takes to succeed under exam pressure. I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping others understand English in a way that feels manageable and even enjoyable, not just like another subject to stress over. My Approach to Tutoring I focus on making English feel logical and manageable rather than abstract or intimidating. My lessons revolve around understanding how examiners think-breaking down essay structure, literary analysis, and language techniques into simple, repeatable methods that actually work under exam pressure. Lesson Length: Usually 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s focus level and goals. Qualifications/Experience: I scored 1580 on the SAT, achieved 9s in both English Literature and Language at GCSE, and an A* in A-Level English Language. I’ve worked with students preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, and international exams, helping them build confidence and consistency across essays, unseen texts, and analysis. Who My Lessons Are For: I teach GCSE and A-Level students (typically ages 14–18), whether they’re aiming to secure top grades or trying to improve from the mid-range.
