About Safiye
My name is Safiye, I am currently studying for my Bachelor in Piano at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where I hold a Denis Matthew’s Memorial Trust Scholarship.
I am absolutely in love with music and the piano, problem solving the many various technical problems we may encounter and generally being on a daily path of exploring music, finding new repertoire and developing interpretation.
Teaching is something I am very passionate about, and I really believe in sharing all the wonderful knowledge from the inspiring teachers I myself have experienced as I know how much this has changed my life and my relationship to music. The opportunity to do that for another human is one of the most rewarding and exciting things. The process of helping another person to understand new information, working through any challenges, or just explore musically with a student is a something I find great joy, value and interest in.

My approach to teaching the piano is based on a framework that incorporates a methodical and structured approach - tailored to each student - whilst still emphasising creativity and imagination as this is what I believe is the most interesting and fulfilling aspect to explore in music. This can look different for everyone. I do really believe having a methodical and clear process in learning is essential to being able to derive the most value and meaning from your lessons and development. I am fun, engaged and always take a personal interest in the student at hand and what it is they want to explore most on their musical journey.
