About Elise
I am a passionate and experienced Flute tutor with over 14 years of teaching experience. I teach School students, College students, and working professionals who want to learn flute in a clear and structured way. My aim is to help students enjoy music while developing strong technical skills.
My teaching approach is based on understanding each student’s level, goals, and learning style. I focus on building strong fundamentals such as posture, breath control, finger technique, tone quality, and rhythm accuracy. Lessons are planned step by step so students can progress with confidence.
I believe clear communication makes learning easy. I explain concepts in simple language and give demonstrations during class. Accountability is maintained by setting regular practice goals and reviewing progress. Integrity is an important value in my teaching, and I always provide honest feedback and steady guidance.
Along with flute lessons, I also teach music theory, notation reading, rhythm exercises, and basic performance skills. I help students prepare for exams, auditions, and stage performances.
My unique strength is my patient and supportive teaching style. I adapt lessons for different age groups and busy professional schedules, creating a disciplined yet friendly learning environment.

My flute teaching methodology is student-centred, focusing on Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility, to create a holistic and enriching learning experience. I start by understanding each student’s abilities, learning style, and musical goals, ensuring lessons are personalised and engaging.
Through clear communication, I teach fundamental techniques such as breathing, posture, finger coordination, articulation, and sight-reading, making sure students feel confident and supported throughout their learning process.
Creativity is integral to my approach. I encourage students to explore various musical styles, experiment with improvisation, and create their own interpretations of pieces. This fosters both technical growth and artistic expression, helping students develop their own musical voice. Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson plans to the student’s pace, strengths, and challenges, ensuring a personalised and motivating experience.
Alongside flute instruction, I teach music theory, rhythm, ear training, and sight-reading to develop complete musicianship. My methodology ensures students achieve technical proficiency, expressive performance skills, and confidence, while nurturing a lifelong love for music and a meaningful connection to their instrument.
