About Jake
I have been taking Spanish since I was in middle school, but I have finished my 4th year of high school Spanish, beyond what is required by my school. I'm in close contact with my Spanish teachers from the last two years, and I spent much of my free time visiting their office hours after school and assisting struggling students who attended them. I am a high achiever in the language and have always experienced academic success in all my Spanish classes. I have a deep understanding of possible struggles students go through with the language, as I have experienced much of the same frustrations and setbacks.

I am a student myself and understand the frustrations that can come with the language! I base my teaching style by adapting to the learner's personal needs whilst encouraging them to simply try their best in understanding language in order for them to achieve success in their classes. A typical session might include lessons on a particular topic, before delving into some guided practice and examples and student-led practice. I will also not hesitate to help out with work or assignments from a particular class, but I always encourage learners to make their best attempts before requiring help. My lessons are best recommended for those who need assistance in Spanish learned in an academic setting, particularly those at the high school level.
