About Vennela
Hi, my name is Vennela Gangasani: a member of the 2021 STEM Academy at Monroe Township High School. I seek to pursue a career in the Medical field. The STEM Academy is a selective program allowing students who have a definitive interest in science, technology, engineering, and math to pursue their career with a curriculum particular toward their interests.
In addition to my curriculum, I'm also involved in extracurricular activities such as varsity lacrosse. Furthermore, I also volunteer at Robert Wood Johnson and am involved in many community service opportunities such as Leukemia Walks and Earth Day clean up. Additionally, I have received my presidential award for community service in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Moreover, I interned and volunteered at GSR Hospital in India where I was able to shadow maxillofacial surgeons and see various different surgeries on cleft patients. The GSR Hospital, funded by the United Nations, provides free and low-cost surgical options for families all over India under poverty. The Hospital also funds the Cleft School Project which provides housing, food, and education for children ages 5-17 with orofacial clefts to develop confidence in school and public areas. Overall, my involvement in these activities helped me learn my passion for helping others.

I teach using recall. I think the best way to teach students is to ask them questions and allow them to think for themselves rather than just listening and writing notes. Another approach is through practice. Consistent practice, especially in areas like physics, mathematics, and chemistry, will be effective in allowing the student to perfect a subject area.
