About Emily
I’m a Grade 11 student at St. Joseph’s Institution International with a genuine passion for sharing knowledge, especially about history. I enjoy teaching my peers and making complex topics come alive through storytelling and creative explanations. Beyond academics, I’m actively involved in many projects, always eager to contribute and learn from new experiences. I focus on helping students understand key historical concepts while developing strong exam techniques. My lessons involve a mix of active note-taking, memory aids, and structured essay planning. I guide students in how to construct high-scoring essays using proper terminology, analytical depth, and clear formatting. We also practice understanding and applying the exam structure to maximise marks.
Lessons typically run for 1 hour or longer, depending on the student's needs and attention span—I'm flexible with timing.
I’m currently an IB Diploma student taking Higher Level History and scored a Level 9 in IGCSE History. I also provide history mentoring at school for current IGCSE students, which has given me experience working with peers at different ability levels.
My lessons are best suited for IGCSE students or younger learners in Grades 7–10 (ages 12–16) who are preparing for exams or simply want to build a strong foundation in history.
