About Paloma
I was always a very systematic girl, I wanted to swallow all the grammar books of the English language to feel safe to speak English, however, when I had the experience of speaking with natives, I got stuck, I couldn't sustain a conversation for a long time, so I could realize how unprepared I was to communicate and express my thoughts, because just like Portuguese, the English spoken on the streets is very different from what is taught in books.
And that's when I decided to change my study methodology, I started reading more fiction books in English, watching more videos of native speakers talking about everyday things, learning more idioms and linguistic variations. That way, I felt much more confident to talk to natives, as I was no longer based only on grammatical rules, but on how English is spoken and understood. And this is my aim, to help people who, despite having a good grammatical base, cannot understand or communicate in English. I will do everything in my power to demystify this language that is alive, full of nuances and so beautiful, so that my students feel confident to talk to whoever they want, without fear or shame of being who they are, or expressing what they think.

Hi there! I'm Paloma, I'm 22 years old and I've been studying English since I was 13. I graduated in 2016 at Centro Interescola de Línguas do Guará, but it was with experiences outside the country that I improved my fluency in English. And that's what I want to show you, with songs, idioms, scenes from movies and series how British English is spoken by natives. I have experience as a teacher of children, so I try to have a methodology based on the assimilation of what is known, but always looking to take a step forward into the unknown, to increasingly expand our knowledge of the world of the English language.
