About Carrie
I moved to Vietnam in 2016 and taught English for five years to students of all ages and levels. At the start of 2021 I decided to move back to South Africa where I acquired a position as a Foundation Phase teacher (Grade 2 and 3) at a private school in Barkly East, EC. I have experience teaching English, Mathematics, Life Skills and Afrikaans, but specialize in English Language skills. When I am not teaching I take guests out on trail rides on horseback, and also facilitate extramural sporting activities such as tag-rugby, soccer, cricket and volleyball. I hold a 120 hour TEFL certification and am currently studying to obtain a higher advanced diploma in Alternative Education. On request I will be able to supply letters of recommendation by past employers stating my excellency in the workplace and as a wholistic teacher.

My teaching methods are fun and adaptable, suited to the individual and their abilities. Lessons are not only highly educational, but games and activities ensure the students have fun as well and walk away feeling accomplished. As a proficient English teacher, my mission is to give my students the knowledge and confidence needed to acquire and hone new language skills! Learning levels: 5 to 16 years (Basic/intermediate).
