About Ellen
Experienced statistics/ research methods teacher/tutor with extensive quantitative research experience. I have both BSc/MSc in applied statistics, have taught on statistics and research methods modules and teach courses for the Royal Statistical Society. I have a proven track record of undertaking quantitative research, have numerous educational publications and am nearing the end of a PhD on understanding and addressing anxiety about maths or statistics. So whether you are struggling with understanding course content, want to improve course grades, undertaking research or have high levels of statistics anxiety, I can help!

With 15 years experience of providing individual statistics tuition and support with quantitative research, I am an expert in understanding research from any discipline and tailoring support to the individual. My extensive research into statistics anxiety means that I incorporate methods to reduce stress and build confidence alongside explaining at a level tailored to the individual. I have provided guidance to 1000's of students and I am passionate at helping any student succeed with statistics and research. Every student is different and particularly for dissertations or research projects, it's important that I understand your aims, objectives and data. So the first session is likely to contain more discussion and plans for future sessions. If you are using software such as SPSS, I will talk you through the steps through screenshare. I will give you tasks to complete before the next session to ensure you understanding of what we have covered and that you are progressing between sessions. I can teach statistics at any level from GCSE to PhD level. I have excellent knowledge of SPSS, Excel and Jamovi I have good knowledge of SAS programming for common statistical techniques and some knowledge of R. I am available at times to suit you including evenings and weekends. I am happy to have a free 20 mins chat to assess your needs, how I can help etc before you book further sessions.
