About Nadine
I am Nadine, a registered Speech-Language Therapist and trained Sounds-Write Structured Literacy Practitioner. I have over 20 years of experience supporting children and young people's speech, language and literacy development.
I have worked across schools, family homes, early childhood settings, specialist education environments, and literacy research. This has included roles with the New Zealand Ministry of Education, the UK NHS, and the Child Wellbeing Research Institute.
Children receiving support from Literate for Life can have a speech and language screen to identify any speech and language skills we can support as part of developing your child’s literacy skills.
I have the skills and experience to flexibly use the principles of structured literacy and extensive speech and language experience to create evidence-based, personalized support for your child.
We also have a trained Literacy Support Dog, George, available for tutoring sessions.

At Literate for Life we help children and teenagers build the literacy skills they need to thrive. We provide personalised, evidence-based structured literacy support for reading, spelling, and writing. Our approach is grounded in the Science of Reading and tailored to each learner's strengths, needs, and goals.
We work with children and teenagers who:
- Need more intensive and personalised literacy support
- Have dyslexia or other learning differences that may be affecting literacy (diagnosed or suspected)
- Have speech and language challenges affecting literacy
You do not need a diagnosis to work with us. We welcome all children who may need a boost or would benefit from an individualised approach to literacy learning
Every child can make progress with the right support. We create a positive and engaging environment where learners can build skills, confidence, and independence.
