I am a trained classical vocalist with certification from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, with years of disciplined training and performance experience. My background in classical music is rooted in both theory and practice, allowing me to teach with depth and clarity. I have experience guiding students of all age groups—from school children to adults—with patience, empathy, and commitment. My teaching style is warm, structured, and encouraging. I create a safe space where students can learn at their own pace without fear of judgment. I believe in continuous learning and regularly update my methods to suit individual learning needs. About the Class
As a classical vocal teacher trained under Pracheen Kala Kendra, my teaching approach is rooted in both tradition and adaptability. I focus on nurturing each student’s voice, understanding, and love for music, no matter their background or age.
Teaching Techniques & Methods
I combine traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara techniques with modern pedagogy. My lessons include voice culture, breathing exercises, pitch perfection (Shruti), tala (rhythm), and raga development. I use both repetition and explanation to help students understand the “why” behind each note and phrase.
Structure of a Class
Each session begins with a vocal warm-up followed by practice of alankars (patterns), basic or advanced ragas, depending on the student’s level. I also incorporate listening exercises, brief theory explanations, and encourage students to maintain a riyaz (practice) routine. Classes are paced to suit the individual, ensuring gradual yet steady progress.
