About Tyoni
Hi! I’m Tyoni, a communications professional with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Journalism and professional experience in strategic communications, writing, marketing, and community relations. I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Strategic Communication, so I understand what it’s like to be a student and the challenges that can come with academic and professional writing.
My goal as a tutor is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where students can ask questions, work through challenges, and build confidence. I take a conversational and supportive approach rather than making lessons feel intimidating or overly formal.
Whether you need help organizing your ideas, strengthening your writing, preparing a presentation, improving your communication skills, or simply gaining more confidence in your work, I’m here to help you get there. I want students to leave each lesson feeling like, “Okay, I actually understand this now.”

My tutoring approach is low-stress, supportive, and conversational. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking their time to understand the material. Rather than simply giving students the answers, I help them understand the “why” behind what they are learning so they can become more confident and independent.
A typical lesson begins with a quick conversation about the student’s goals and what they are struggling with. From there, we work through examples together, discuss different approaches, and practice the skill in a way that feels manageable and relevant. I adjust each lesson based on the student’s learning style, experience, and specific needs.
What sets me apart is my real-world experience in communications. I bring practical knowledge of writing, professional communication, presentations, messaging, and strategic communication into my lessons. My goal is to make learning feel useful beyond the classroom.
