About Yash
I am a person who has worked to the bone for all that I have achieved, both academically and otherwise. I was classified as a 'slow learner' for most of my primary school, moving into regular classes only when I was in year 3. I did not start achieving any higher than C's with the occasional B here and there until I was in year 9. Now, I placed in the top 2% nationwide in my ATAR, in the top 10% in the international medical school entrance test, and placed in the top 5 nationwide for my fiction writing two years in a row. How? Effort AND support. Horse and a carriage -- there cannot be one without the other. I know that the effort is possible, sometimes support is what you need to jumpstart the engine. I also want to support children who don't come from privileged backgrounds; as such, if financial hardship is evident, I will adjust my rate. EVERYONE deserves a chance, not just those who can afford it.

Students need time. Time where someone sits down with them and listens to their thoughts and feelings about subjects and works WITH them, not against them. For example, I never really liked math growing up; in fact, I could not stand it. But, I was lucky. I had a father who sat with me every evening and helped me through my homework. Sometimes, he did not even say much. He just supported me and I knew that he was there in case I needed help, or if I was just frustrated and needed a momentary distraction. Having now graduated and moved on to university, I cannot thank him enough. I graduated with a 98 ATAR and placed in the top 10% of the UCAT (medical/dental school entrance test) and am studying my dreams. BUT, I know that not all parents have the time or the energy to do what my dad did for me. BUT, kids like me are out there and just need that time and support to thrive. I WANT to be that person for kids like myself, boys and girls who just need that time because it can make all the difference: just ask me.
