About Shawn
Hi, I'm Shawn! I’m a dedicated swim coach who believes that everyone—regardless of age, athletic background, or past water anxiety—deserves to feel completely weightless and safe in the water.
I don't believe in the "old school" method of throwing students into the deep end. My coaching philosophy is rooted in patience, science, and step-by-step progress. I make my sessions highly interactive, technical, and tailored exactly to your comfort level.

Most people treat swimming like a survival test—thrashing around, fighting the water, and leaving the pool completely exhausted after just one lap.
My coaching style is completely different. I don't just tell you to "kick harder." I teach you how to align your body, work with the water’s buoyancy, and glide effortlessly. Whether you are terrified of the deep end, trying to master your breathing, or preparing for a triathlon, we focus on efficiency over brute force.
How we build your confidence in the pool:
Comfort First (No Panic Zone): For beginners, we start on land with breath control patterns, then transition to shallow-water drills until submerged breathing becomes second nature.
The "Zero-Drag" Formula: We work extensively on head positioning and core alignment. Keeping your hips high means you move twice as fast with half the effort.
Stroke Reconstruction: I break down the mechanics of Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke, and Butterfly into simple, easy-to-repeat movements.
Instant Video Feedback (Optional): We can use quick poolside video clips so you can actually see what your body is doing in real-time.

Shawn is fantastic. He coached my 8-year-old son who was very stubborn about putting his face in the water. Shawn turned it into a game, gained his trust in minutes, and had him blowing bubbles and floating by the end of the class. High energy, super professional, and incredibly fun for kids.
I used to get completely gassed after just 50 meters. Shawn took one look at my body positioning and showed me how my dropped hips were acting like a brake. He adjusted my head angle and kick, and suddenly I was gliding. I can now swim a kilometer without stopping, and it actually feels easy. He is a technical genius!
