About Bella
With over nine years of experience teaching voice in South Korea, I bring a strong foundation in vocal technique and a deep passion for helping students grow in both skill and confidence. I hold a degree in Vocal Performance from both an arts high school and university in Korea, and I am a certified Music Psychology Counselor. Throughout my teaching career, I have developed lasting relationships with students—many of whom studied with me for over a year. Before relocating to Vancouver, I continued teaching private voice lessons up until my departure, concluding with nine dedicated students. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel safe to explore and develop their unique voices. I believe that vocal training is not only about technical growth but also about building self-assurance and personal expression. In addition, I offer specialized insight into Korean pop (K-Pop) vocals, including lyric interpretation, pronunciation, and stylistic techniques, which are increasingly in demand in global music education.

Teaching Methodology & Techniques
I believe every student has a unique voice and musical personality. My teaching method focuses on building confidence and discovering each student’s natural vocal tone. I use a mix of breathing techniques, vocal warm-ups, pitch training, and emotional expression exercises. For more advanced students, I incorporate stylistic interpretation, microphone technique, and performance coaching.
Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson begins with 5–10 minutes of breathing and vocal warm-ups. Then we move into technical practice tailored to the student’s needs, such as range extension, vocal placement, or vibrato control. After that, we apply the techniques to a song chosen by the student or me. The final part of the lesson focuses on expression, pronunciation, and stage presence, depending on the student’s goals.

With over 9 years of private teaching experience and a background in both vocal performance and music psychology, I create a safe and encouraging environment where students can truly grow. I specialize in K-pop vocals, emotional delivery, and pronunciation — which is especially helpful for international students or performers preparing for Korean songs.
