About Namrita
Teaching has brought about a positive change and developed my creative skills to a whole new dimension. I have been associated with teaching and classroom experience since the age of 15. I was a part a preparatory school as a volunteer and later joined it as a coordinator. This was the beginning of my teaching career as well as learning to take certain independent decisions after assessing the learning environment. As I began my career teaching kindergarten children and slowly progressing towards higher grades, this helped me grasp the learning gaps in children and cater to individual needs accordingly.
My Teaching subjects are English, Psychology and Fine Arts. As educational psychology was the key aspect of my degree, that gave me a good insight of children with different educational needs. I have been teaching Psychology from last five years, to A Level and undergraduate students and have over ten years of experience teaching English and Fine Arts to students of different cultures. I teach English to EAL students and teach with different interactive games so that learning becomes easy.
My recent teaching experience in year 3/4 has given me a good understanding of the primary curriculum, teaching math following Hamilton planning and the expectations of Ofsted standards. During this teaching year, the school went through Ofsted inspection and was graded good from needs improvement. My current teaching position is giving me the opportunity to experience teaching the new AQA A Level specification based curriculum. I have also completed AQA CPD in Teaching Psychology to A level, and have a good understanding of expected standards.
I am Teaching as a A Level Psychology Teacher in a school and teaching Psychology and English. I am also taking some one to one tutions .
My time in different schools has developed my philosophy of valuing each child as an individual, as well as part of a community. I aim to give children as many learning opportunities and hands-on experience, in order to engage and inspire developing process.
I have in particular come to understand the value of sharing learning objectives and success criteria with children. Knowing exactly what is expected and how they can achieve it, allowing children to focus more clearly on tasks.
To make learning interesting and creative, I plan using drama and art activities, this allows children to explore and understand situations, and express feelings, thoughts and emotions. I used many assessment techniques like traffic lights, SITS and recording those who achieved above or below expectations. I made midterm and year-end reports, sharing them with the parents to follow the progress of each child. I even allowed children to self and peers assess to enhance their own learning and become responsible learners.
Teaching is not an only my profession but a passion, where I work to make a difference in every possible way to ensure positive learning environment.
