About Samantha
I am an educator of 13 years. I believe all students can achieve their goals with the proper support. Learning happens through application and communication. Both the educator and student should feel comfortable with sharing with each other their knowledge levels throughout a lesson to ensure maximum mastery is achieved. This means, I encourage my students to speak to me about what is going well in our lessons as well as things they’d like to change. This helps me become the best educator for each of my students. I am certified in Special Education EC-12 and EC-6 Core Subjects. Working in elementary schools primarily, has provided me with the opportunity to teach all contents Pre-K through 5th grade. I have also taught English at a middle school level and adult education level as an ESL instructor.

You can expect lessons to be engaging, student focused, and data driven.
A typical lesson with me follows this simple yet effective pattern:
•Introduction: you will learn key vocabulary through an interactive game. You will also complete a warm up activity which introduces you to the topic we will be learning that session.
•Guided Practice: we will work together to solve problems, complete assignments, and practice the skill we are learning.
•Independent practice: you will work to solve problems focusing on the skill we are learning. I will monitor and provide support as needed.
Review: we will play a game that highlights the skills to check for understanding.
Exit ticket: you will complete an assignment independently that ranges from 2-5 questions. This allows me to adapt lessons based off of mastery.
