About Kathryn
With a Master’s degree in Special Education and an Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S) in Educational Leadership, I bring a strong foundation of knowledge and over a decade of real-world experience as a special educator. My career has been dedicated to helping K–12 students—particularly those with diverse learning needs—make successful transitions to college and beyond. I take great pride in maintaining a high level of professionalism in every interaction. My sessions are well-organized, goal-oriented, and customized to support each student’s unique learning style and needs. I specialize in academic life coaching and executive functioning skills, which means I don't just focus on helping students complete assignments—I help them become confident, independent learners with the tools to manage their time, organize their work, and advocate for themselves. What truly sets my tutoring apart is my deep understanding of how to meet students where they are and help them build the confidence to go further. As a retired special educator with a Master's degree in Special Education (Instructional Specialist) and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, my approach to tutoring is rooted in decades of experience supporting students at the K–12 level, particularly in preparing them for successful transitions to college and university.
I specialize in academic life coaching and executive functioning skills, helping students develop the tools they need to navigate both academic challenges and real-world expectations. My work focuses on building independence, strengthening organizational habits, and cultivating self-advocacy—all essential components of postsecondary success.
Throughout my career, I’ve emphasized individualized support based on each student’s unique strengths and needs. Whether working on content mastery or skill development, I ensure that lessons are purposeful, engaging, and connected to long-term academic and personal goals. My background in special education also allows me to effectively support learners with diverse learning profiles, including those with IEPs or 504 Plans.
In every session, I strive to foster confidence, competence, and clarity—equipping students not just to complete assignments, but to understand how to think critically, manage their responsibilities, and succeed independently.
