About Dylan
During my process to receive my teaching license in the state of North Carolina as well as my studies and internships related to my Foreign Language Education (K-12) minor, I've been assisting in classrooms and leading lessons for the past 3 years. Between previous tutoring jobs and internships, I have worked with a diverse demographic of students ranging from Elementary to High school. These experiences, aside from helping me to develop valuable skills in my profession that are beneficial to my students, have also bolstered my passion for teaching, helping, and empowering others. With this being said, I feel that it is selfish for an educator to not try their very best to meet their students' learning needs because of how important the role of education is in a students' life. Being able to see positive results from assessment data and observe my students' growth both in the past and present has made this line of work all the more rewarding for me, and I'm confident that I will continue to see a positive effect on my students as a result of my actions in the future.

My teaching method is flexible and adaptable. There is no effective 'cookie-cutter' way to teach. Every individual has different learning needs, preferences, and methods of motivation, so I teach according to what is best for the individuals that I'm instructing. I teach with empathy, compassion, and a drive to figure out what best meets the needs of my students. I set high expectations for my students because I know that they are always capable of growth, and I always encourage effort. I understand that learning another language can be daunting or intimidating, so I strive the hardest I can to make it less overwhelming by breaking it down into easier, immersive steps.

I'm happy to offer a free first lesson that lasts for 1 hour because I think that it's fair for the student to get to know their teacher/tutor before having to commit to paying. Any hour after that, I charge $16/hour.
