About ABBY
Hi! I recently graduated summa cum laude from Wheaton College with a double major in Spanish and Environmental Science, and I am a member of Sigma Delta Pi, the national collegiate Hispanic Honor Society. I’ve spent the last few years immersed in the Spanish language—not only through coursework, but also as a Spanish Teacher Assistant, conversation group leader, and study abroad participant in Spain. I even returned to Spain as the TA for the same program, where I helped teach lessons, grade assignments, and support students in developing their speaking skills. I love helping others learn this beautiful and widely spoken language, and I strive to make my lessons supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals. I'm excited to share both the language and the rich culture that comes with it!

My tutoring sessions are personalized to each student’s goals—whether they're learning Spanish for school, travel, or overall fluency. I focus on building confidence through conversation, vocabulary, and grammar in context, using real-life topics and cultural insights from my time in Spain. A typical lesson includes warm-up dialogue, targeted grammar or vocabulary practice, and interactive activities. I use tools like flashcards and online games to make vocabulary memorization fun and effective, along with worksheets and structured drills to strengthen conjugation skills. I also support students with homework, test prep, and class assignments. My time as a Spanish Teacher Assistant and study abroad leader in Spain has given me great experience learning to connect with students and explain concepts clearly.
