About Marta

Hi! I'm Marta, a certified Spanish teacher (ELE) from Barcelona. I'm a native Spanish and Catalan speaker with a Master's in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I help adult learners improve their Spanish through natural, structured conversation. My students are usually professionals or language lovers who want to:

speak more naturally
discuss topics that interest them
expand their vocabulary
gain confidence speaking Spanish

I also speak English and French, which helps me support beginners when needed. My goal is simple: real conversations that help you actually use Spanish in everyday life

About the lesson

My lessons focus on communication and real-life Spanish. We'll talk about topics that genuinely interest you, practice everyday situations, and build the confidence to use Spanish outside the classroom.

Classes are informal, interactive, and personalized — more like a conversation with a friend than a traditional lesson. I guide you, correct gently, and give you the tools to express yourself with ease.

Whether you're a complete beginner, brushing up on grammar, or working on fluency, I'll adapt the pace and materials to you.

Why learn with me?

- Native speaker from Spain
- Certified ELE teacher
- Patient, encouraging, student-centered
- Focus on real communication, not just theory
- Experience teaching all ages and levels

Perfect! Marta is exactly what I was looking for; the right mix of friendly and informal conversation, but also a structured approach to learning and achieving my goals. I like that I am being challenged, but it's very much at my level - she makes me feel comfortable, which is so important!

Perfect! Marta identified straight away what my aims and motivations were, and what level I was already comfortable with.

She speaks freely in Spanish and English during lessons which will really help with learning how to listen to and understand a native speaker in normal conversion.

I love my lessons with Marta. She is a great teacher and is very patient and helpful. When you get something wrong, she encourages you to come up with the correct answer for yourself rather than just giving you the answer! That is so helpful for remembering. I really look forward to every lesson because she has restored my passion for learning the language so I am once again very motivated. Muchas gracias Marta. Saludos, Jenny

Excellent! Marta's a great, friendly teacher who can help you pick up your mistakes and clarify ideas. After initially chatting about my aims, it's clear that Marta has chosen activities clearly linked to what I hope to achieve. 11/10 would recommend.

I've studied with Marta for some time now and I can honestly say that I am extremely satisfied with our Spanish lessons together. Not only is she super knowledgable and patient with me, she tailors our lessons to my specific language needs, learning style and interests. Besides a great teacher, she's also a down-to-earth and cheerful person. I'd highly recommend her lessons!

Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?
Thanks to my origins I can teach you Spanish as it is. I am all the way from Barcelona and I love to share not only how to learn this language but also discover its culture like a local
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
If there ever was a patron saint of Barcelona for me it would have been Antoni Gaudí. While most people are familiar with his colourful mosaics, natural elements, and skeleton balconies there is a man behind the surreal buildings (and park) remains relatively mysterious that I will be happy to help you discover
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?
I will love to teach you a tradition that we have for Christmas time related with grapes... I can't say more!
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
Spanish is the official languages in more than 20 countries which makes it an incredible opportunity to be able to speak it while travelling!
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
I will say some people struggle with pronunciation and some grammar structures but I believe with practice anything can be learned.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
As a student I have always been curious of students that were from a different origin than mine. There is it where I create my base of respect for other cultures. I might not understand, or share the way we think, but I start any dialogue based on respect.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
As I am native I speak it every day but I have learnt so much while travelling in Mexico and how many differences in pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar we do have! I want my students to be competent and able to communicate with someone from Spain, Colombia, Cuba or any other speaking Spanish country.
What makes you a Superprof in language?
I am very patient and friendly, I really want my students to feel comfortable and talk to me as I friend. I can assure them they will start practising speaking since day one
