Hi there! I'm Izzy and I’m a passionate language learner with a love for helping others discover the beauty of learning Spanish. I’ve spent years studying the language, and I understand the challenges that come with learning something new. That's why I’m committed to making the process as enjoyable and effective as possible. I believe language opens doors to new cultures, perspectives, and opportunities. My tutoring approach focuses on making learning personalised and engaging by adapting to each student’s unique needs. I believe in active learning, where students apply what they’ve learned through speaking, writing, and interactive exercises. Techniques & Teaching Methodology: - Personalised Learning Plans: I assess the student’s current proficiency and goals to tailor lessons accordingly. - Interactive Methods: I encourage conversation, use multimedia resources, and incorporate practical exercises to make learning dynamic. - Grammar and Vocabulary Building: A strong focus on grammar and vocabulary, with isolated practice before introducing it in context. - Cultural Integration: To enhance language fluency, I integrate cultural elements like music, films, and articles to give context and make the material more engaging. - Progress Tracking: I monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to ensure improvement. Lesson Duration: - Typically, lessons last 30-60 minutes Qualifications/Experience: - Qualifications: I have an A in A-Level Spanish (after achieving a 9 in GCSE), and am studying Spanish and Italian at the University of Manchester. - Experience: I have experience giving beginner language lessons at a high school in Manchester and I am currently teaching English to middle school students in Italy on my year abroad! Who My Lessons Are For: - Age Group: My lessons are ideal for high school students and adult learners who want to improve their Spanish skills. - Level: I work with beginner to intermediate students looking to strengthen their conversational skills, grammar, or preparing for exams.
