About Matthew
I started learning Spanish in high school. I took two classes there and then two classes my freshman year of college (because it was required for the curriculum) and aced all of those classes. I decided to become fluent in Spanish the summer after my freshman year of college (summer of 2024) when I worked in a moving company with a lot of Latino natives. I took the opportunity to use the limited amount of knowledge I had from class to have basic small talk conversations with my co-workers. I instantly fell in love with the language. In the past few months, I've used a lot of sources and language learning social media to connect with natives to improve my Spanish and also learn about Latin American culture.

I like to help clarify concepts about Spanish grammar and rules with contextual examples. I understand that it's hard for beginning learners to memorize a bunch of rules about grammar and structure. But giving them real-world examples of how those rules are applied can help develop a good understanding. Who I help: - Beginning learners with days of the week, months, basic vocabulary, basic sentence structure, basic verb conjugations (present and preterite) - Intermediate learners with advanced verb conjugations (imperfect and conditional), and the subjunctive mood (present and imperfect)
