About Jennifer
I have been playing the violin for 13 years now as well as a bit of the viola. Self taught myself the keyboard as I enjoy the sounds of all musical instruments
I received a distinction in both my grades 1 + 7 and a merit pass in grades 3 + 5 all under ABRSM. I plan to submit my grade 8 exam recordings before 2021 summer starts.
I achieved a pass on my grade 5 musicianship theory and I passed with an A in my music GCSE.

I plan to start off with getting the student acquainted with note lengths (e.g. minim, crotchet, quavers etc) and have them reading rhythms and clapping them. Next, I would show the student stretches/warm ups to help them before they start their practice and this could be a good habit to build from early because even me I forget to stretch before practicing. This will then be followed by getting the student familiar with holding the violin as it's an unusual posture that will now need to be adapted into their lifestyle, which will include left hand plucking, ensuring left elbow stays up and then incorporating the bow hold. This will be introduced first by holding a pencil and creating the right spacing between fingers.
We will then move on to learning a piece and then giving a different piece of homework from fiddle time starters.

Perfect! Jennifer is so personable and gifted! She has been teaching my daughter fir the past 9 months and I can see a difference.
My daughter now practices her violin often and has not only learnt about the importance of posture in playing the violin but also where are fingers are placed on the violin.

Jennifer has been playing the violin since a child. Throughout the whole time I have known her, her passion for the instrument has grown. Coming from a non instrumental background I was intrigued by her love for the violin so I decided to give it ago. She has educated me on the 12 major keys of this wonderful C instrument and also helped me learn numerous songs.
