About Kate
I am a UK qualified teacher with a PGCE and more recently, nearly 4 years' experience working as a full stack software engineer in the industry, building apps and websites completely from scratch using the React/React Native framework (JavaScript and TypeScript). I have run hackathons for adults and young people starting out in their coding careers and built the whole school coding curriculum in my time as a school teacher.

I teach a wide range of ages and abilities, from beginner coding lessons in Scratch to pair coding with students building their own React applications or JavaScript websites. My philosophy is that people always learn better by doing, so I take a project-based approach and guide students through activities to build confidence and skills. Sessions are typically an hour long and take place online over Zoom.
