I have known Mathew for 15 years as his colleague at London South Bank University an dbeyond. Not only did he win student awards for lecturing during his tenure, but I witnessed his clarity, warmth and approchablity first hand. He is deep thinker and advanced researcher, but also a clear and student-focussed teacher. It was a pleasure to work with him and any student in his class, let alone in a one-one is very lucky in my opinion.
