About Maya
I hold a bachelor’s degree in music and have been teaching guitar for the past 5 years. My journey as a guitarist began at a young age, and over time, it evolved into a deep passion for both playing and helping others discover their musical voice. With formal education and real-world performance experience, I bring a well-rounded and practical approach to my teaching. Throughout my teaching career, I’ve worked with students of various ages and skill levels—from absolute beginners to intermediate players seeking to expand their technique and theory knowledge. I believe in tailoring lessons to the student's goals, whether that’s mastering chords, learning to improvise, or understanding the theory behind the music they love. In addition to teaching, I’ve performed in local bands and solo gigs, which gives me insight into live performance techniques and stage confidence—skills I enjoy passing on to my students. My lessons often include tips on gear, tone, and musical expression, so students gain both the technical and artistic sides of playing guitar. Teaching guitar is not just a job for me—it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I find great satisfaction in helping students hit their milestones, whether it’s playing their first full song or composing an original piece. Seeing someone light up with progress and pride is what keeps me inspired lesson after lesson.
