About Laylalu
I’m Lady Lay, 26 year old, gigging musician, songwriter, and performer with 16+ years of experience. I perform regularly, tour, and gig across different cities, and I go back and forth between Toronto and Los Angeles. I’m also part of my own band, Twice As Nice, and work across multiple musical styles. I sing, write, perform, and play multiple instruments, and my teaching reflects real-world musicianship, not just theory. My goal is to help students build confidence, musical intuition, and authentic expression, whether they’re stepping into music for the first time or deepening an existing practice. Music should feel human, expressive, and alive — that’s what I teach.

I teach music on all levels, taught through an intuitive, ear-based approach rather than traditional sheet-music reading. My approach allows you to play quicker while also getting the intuitive feel for music. I offer either Vocals, Guitar or Ukulele classes. This style is especially helpful for people who feel musical but were intimidated by rigid, academic methods or who want to feel music, not just read it.

I know it's written that I travel for classes but I am currently only accepting online or in person (at my studio) — I also offer vocals & songwriting classes but it won't allow me to give that option! All the same price.
